What We Do...
Denver Rescue Mission is changing lives in the name of Christ by meeting people at their physical and spiritual points of need.
In the details...
At nearly 60 years old, Reggie didn’t think there was hope for turning his life around. He had spent the last three decades sinking deep into his addictions, and he had tried 30-day programs and support groups, but nothing worked. When he lost his job and his home, he finally reached out to the Mission for help. He says his lifelong dream was to become a cook, and his father always wanted him to get a good education. But he never pursued either. Today, thanks to the Mission, he’s making that dream a reality with culinary classes at a local college. “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” he says. “This is what my dad always strived to provide for me, and it’s changing my life now. I hope he’s up in heaven smiling, and I hope he’s proud of me.” $35 provides someone like Reggie with one day in the Mission’s life-changing rehabilitation and transitional programs.
